One of the purposes of this blog is to inform the public about the work of midwives. Northern California midwife, Maggie Bennett stood out to me as an outstanding example of the work, philosophy and gentle attention that midwives give; she incorporates the values intrinsic to the midwifery model of care and believes that her work is a vocation (a word derived from Latin vocātiō, meaning 'a call').
